This sharpener uses a three stage system to give the blade perfect sharpness. Stage 1 starts the sharpening process by using a Sapphirite coarse grinding wheel. This creates the initial proper blade angle. Once this is completed, in Stage 2, the sharpening is continued by using a Sapphirite medium grinding wheel. This gives the blade its precision edge. In Stage 3, the final touch is given by using an extra fine grit ceramic wheel. This gives the blade a precise razor sharp edge. Once sharpened, be extremely careful how you handle the knife.
The Presto 08810 has a very user friendly design feature called the ‘No Guess Sharpening’. The sharpener has three adjustable blade selector settings – thick, medium and sharp.
